‘Carlisle Cantate Children’s choir present an evening for all the family of Songs from Stage and Screen. Come and hear numbers from hit shows such as Annie, Billy Elliot, The Wizard of Oz and old favourites from films including Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and so much more…Carlisle Cantate is a community choir founded in 2009 for boys and girls from age seven upwards.  It is directed by Edward Taylor (the Cathedral’s Assistant Organist) and practises once a week in the Cathedral on Thursdays.  They sing in a fun and relaxed atmosphere and their repertoire encompasses jazz, classical children’s songs and hits from all the best known musical films and stage productions.  They perform on their own, occasionally with other ensembles from the Cathedral, and, three times a year, as part of Singing Out, the Cathedral’s Outreach Programme.  The children are so excited to be singing their first concert since Christmas 2019 and would love to see you all there. Bring the children, Bring the grandchildren. There will be something for everyone! All details on the poster attached. We look forward to seeing you there!’
